Lauren Kleiman

Lauren Kleiman is a professional tap dance choreographer, performer, and educator with over 15 years of experience. In 2010, she founded Stomp the Swamp (STS), a charitable tap dance organization at the University of Florida that raised funds for the national nonprofit Dancers Responding to AIDS.

After earning her degree, Lauren continued her tap dance education in New York City, studying under master teachers and deepening her focus on improvisation with Derick Grant and Barbara Duffy.

In Orlando, she taught and choreographed for studios and community theatre companies, and founded Sole Expression, a professional tap company that collaborated with Wheldon Street, a six-piece jazz ensemble. Sole Expression had the honor of opening for Blue Man Group at Creative City and performing alongside other talented Orlando artists.

Since moving to Colorado in 2023, Lauren has continued to share her passion for tap dance through performance, education, and community engagement. She is honored to serve on the board of DAPPR, where she looks forward to helping make dance more accessible and inclusive throughout Colorado Springs.
