Dr. Shalah Parker served her country for 11 years as a civilian social worker for the Department of the Navy. She then transitioned into school social work in Academy School District 20 for ten years. Shalah rounded out her career in education in Colorado Springs School District 11 as a Middle School Assistant Principal for four years and as a Middle School Principal for eight years. She earned a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership in 2020. Now retired, she spends her time being involved with her adult children in caring for her grandchildren, traveling the world, studying the art of photography, and working part-time as an agent in the travel industry. With her exceptional expertise in grant writing and extensive leadership experience in education, she will undoubtedly provide invaluable support to DAPPR.
